The Application Support Specialist at Vermont Teddy Bear Company will provide application support for VTB employees and onsite contractors. This position will participate in business application software implementation, maintenance and application support/troubleshooting for purchased and custom applications. This position will also be a part of the Help Desk team and support PCs, phones, network accounts, printers, and applications.
RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
a.Trouble-shoot business applications
b.Install/upgrade business applications
c.Support and manage peak related changes
d.Train end-users in the use of business applications when necessary
a.Provide level 1 and 2 support for VTB applications
b.Provide backup/supplemental support for VTB employees and onsite contractors for PCs, phones, voicemail
c.Work with Junior Systems Administrator to provide complete Help Desk coverage
d.Provide 24x7 on-call support
C.Develop and maintain documentation in support of Application Support responsibilities and tasks
D.Develop and maintain a functional level of understanding of existing suite of applications, business needs and data requirements of the organization.
E.Negotiate technical and non-technical solutions that satisfy both the business user and conform to the technical architecture
F.Develop and maintain relationships with external vendor partners and prospective solution providers
G.Able to effectively support multiple projects and tasks, along with the capacity to respond to production/maintenance issues; ability to effectively manage priorities
H.Demonstrate VTB?s customer service philosophy and effective communication skills
I.Responsible for adherence to VTB?s departmental, corporate, and financial policies and procedures
J.Responsible for S.O.S participation as required during Peak Periods
K.Will follow all ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by VTB and the department.
This position requires proven critical thinking ability. Needs to be able to understand all the available information, tie it all together, and articulate it clearly and concisely. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a variety of organizational audiences. Demonstrated experience in writing functional and technical specifications. Must be detail oriented, self directed, and have proven problem solving skills. Must be flexible and react effectively to a fast-paced organization.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Business or related discipline and equivalent work experience. Minimum three years of relevant work experience. Business Analyst, Application Specialist, Project Management experience preferred. Relevant experience working with vendors/consultants also preferred.
