Opportunity: Application & Systems Engineer
Be on the front-line of our ease of use and expansion efforts by writing development process automation applications, creating customized reporting dashboards, expanding data aggregation scripts, enhancing support tools, organizing knowledge base entries and implementing good ideas from many sources using the best tool available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, prototype, implement test and document solutions for the enterprise architecture.
Integrate various company modules with our centralized system.
Provide recommendations for changes and improvement to our current software solutions.
Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle.
Responsible to be creative and innovative with proposals/suggestions for new solutions or approaches.
Required Skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
Extensive Java development skills (JPA, JSP, Hibernate, Java).
Demonstrated skills in scripting languages (bash) and Linux tools (sed, awk).
Good understanding of presentation frameworks for building web applications.
Ability to apply common design patterns.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable refactoring unfamiliar code.
Good understanding of Web Services.
Required Experience
Computer Sciences Degree or equivalent.
1-4 years of experience in Java development.
Good Linux knowledge and experience.
Experience in XML, SQL, JavaScript and HTML.
