Description:
The primarily responsibilities for the Applications Administrator are around installation, support, configuration, and maintenance of the software and systems utilized in our Front, Back and Remote office and support environments and other tools in support of Vesta's internal business operations. The timely resolution of system issues to ensure that that performance and availability targets are met, compliance with established security guidelines, approved standards, and approved company policies and procedures in the execution of assigned duties.
Duties:
System Administration:
Serves as 2nd and 3rd level support ensures availability of global server environments and is responsible for service level attainment.
Plans, implements, and designs technology solutions of moderate to difficult complexity.
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and assist in resolving hardware, application and operating system issues.
Evaluates and recommends operating systems and hardware design details in current and approved technology standards.
Performs operating system related software installations, patches, and upgrades.
Audits system and security logs to ensure secure and healthy system environments.
Monitors, and fine tunes application systems and software to optimize system performance. This includes ensuring indexes are performed
Utilizes system automation and monitoring tools to maximize work efficiency.
Establish and maintain a Recovery Plan that meets established business requirements to mitigate data loss
Projects:
Document Internal Application systems and processes that support business operations.
Provides technical expertise on assigned platforms for infrastructure projects.
Identifies deficiencies in assigned infrastructure and recommend technology solutions that increase overall operational efficiency.
Develop communication models to ensure information is disseminated as needed to end customers and technical staff
Self or Group Development:
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of assigned technologies and methodologies available to provide optimal solutions.
Provide technical mentoring/coaching to team members. Present technical topics to global team members as appropriate.
Work to promote positive teamwork and build relationships among team members and across departmental teams.
Foster innovation by soliciting ideas, information and feedback from team members.
Monitoring:
Develop monitoring tools to support and manage environments and ensure they are functional and operating efficiently.
Monitors infrastructure using approved tools and methods; provide recommendations that result in operational improvements.
Regularly creates and submit reports covering accomplishments, issues, metrics, and technology changes.
Provides reporting of system usage, capacity, and availability to management and users.
