Applications Engineer NextIO

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for pre and post-sale customer support for our existing and new customers. Candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of network, storage, and server deployment in a datacenter environment. This position works closely with customers on development, Proof of Concept, and support of I/O virtualization applications as they relate to Networking, Storage and High Performance Computing using GPU's. Candidate would be responsible for tracking, documenting, and resolving customer issues. Candidate should have strong technical verbal and written skills.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Travel to Customer's facility to deploy, debug and/or gain a better understanding of the customer application deployment and issues
2. Accompany Sales team on pre and post-sales calls with customers and present technical information on the NextIO products
3. 3rd party training of resellers, OEM's and distributors on the NextIO equipment for support, diagnostics and deployment
4. Develop and use issue/bug tracking tools for customer support issues
5. Take ownership and resolve customer issues from onset to closure related to NextIO developed solutions
6. Create and setup demonstrations for Tradeshows and customers that highlight the NextIO products
7. Create and setup tests and test equipment to replicate customer's environment to debug and resolve customer issues
8. Review and generate customer specific documentation, User's Guides, datasheets and application notes and training material
PEOPLE SKILLS:
Must be able to interface well with Customers in all situations, openly receive their various requests and issues, and then act on them quickly to end each issue with a customer who is satisfied with the results. Must be able to work closely with engineering teams to obtain a good understanding of the system, issues, resolution to issues, and translate this into a clear and concise written description for the customers and 3rd party support. Must be able to generate and present technical material on NextIO products.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must be proficient with various operating systems, Linux, Windows, etc. Must possess the ability to operate and configure computer equipment such as blade server systems, storage systems (such as JBOD's and RBOD's) and network equipment (such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches).
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Needs to have a good strong understanding of data center architectures. Experience with high speed serial I/O architectures is a plus.
EDUCATION:
BSEE or MSEE degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in applications and customer support. Previous background in system design or in the data center preferred.
