As an Applications Engineer you will have an opportunity to master parallel programming techniques, understand methods to reach highest performance on state of the art processors, and learn about various interacting layers of software.
Through variety of projects, such as building demo applications, performance benchmarking, performance tuning, and bringup and debug of new products, you will gain a range of hands-on knowledge and skills, enabling you to expertly guide customers software designers in their architecture decisions, help shape the company?s products, as well as lead cross-departmental efforts in pursuing Tier-1 opportunities.
Applications engineering is a unique role that allows a university graduate both to grow technically as well as to gain valuable leadership skills. Involvement with customers? design choices allows for an insight into system architecture. Participating in bids for customer opportunities allows for insight into business dynamics. Solving complex problems with teams from across multiple departments allows for understanding of project management. Training customers and fellow employees allows for polishing presentation confidence and quality.

Requirements
BS/MS in CS, or EE, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
C or C++ Proficiency
Intimate knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux or similar)
Knowledge of CPU architecture
1+ years of co-op or full time experience in Application or Design Engineering is a plus
SMP experience is a plus
Device driver experience is a plus
Performance profiling is a plus
Compiler optimization flags knowledge is a plus
Strong problem solving skills
Strong communication
Excitement about learning
