Applications Engineer - Imaging LumaSense Technologies
DescriptionThis position is the technical applications expert focusing on our thermal imaging cameras and integrated systems focused on our key markets: Global Energy, Industrial Materials & Advanced Technologies. The person in this position will apply experience to help direct the development of new solutions globally; work directly with product management, customers and the sales team on opportunities; including providing clarification during the production of the equipment and installation as necessary, and resolving high level technical inquires. This person will also be the main point of contact for customer technical questions on our products and solutions, in particular operation of our camera products.
Reports to: Director of Global Applications
Responsibilities:
Work within the Global Applications Group to define and develop new applications solutions
Support our worldwide sales team with training and accompanying team members on customer visits
Assist Inside Sales with technical questions from customers
Provide input on new designs, enhancements to existing products and market application experience to the Engineering teams
Work closely with product management to identify and develop new market opportunities, as well as writing proposals
Write detailed Applications Notes, white papers, and present results at conferences
Provide high level technical support to customers and answer their pre & during sales technical questions
Assist in specials (both in building with operations and also with paperwork in preparation)
Assist operations in manufacturing of thermal imaging products and integrated systems
Assist with special assignments and projects as required
Travel required up to 25%
Qualifications:
In depth knowledge and understanding of at least one of our key markets as noted above
Practical experience and knowledge of process engineering functions, including sensors, systems integration and process optimization
Ability to read, understand and apply knowledge from data sheets and other technical documents
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively in a flexing work environment
Proactively and constructively makes suggestions for process or product improvement
Ability to effectively listen to internal and external customer needs and offer appropriate solutions
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Self-motivated and enthusiastic about their field, and about providing a high level of quality to customers
Has strong verbal and written, communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
High level of fluency in spoken and written English preferred
Education/Experience:
Minimum BS Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related field
5+ years? field experience in Industrial or Advanced technology field
Experience with sensor selection, system design & integration
Experience in thermal imaging and/or applying infrared theory a plus
Previous sales & customer interaction experience a plus
