JOB DESCRIPTION:The Applications Lab manager will be responsible for designing and executing experiments that validate the readiness of AEB products to fulfill market needs and validate the applicability of products for customer opportunities. The Applications Lab Manager will work cross functionally with the engineering and business development teams to define experimental methods and designs needed to answer market- and application-readiness questions. This person will in many instances be expected to execute the experimental plan, analyze the resulting data, and summarize the data into useful information upon which business development decisions can be made.
The role will be commercially oriented with a strong focus on verifying market opportunities and delivering products to market. Performance will be measured against commercially oriented criteria.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in chemical engineering or related field. 5-7 years industrial experience.
Demonstrated ability to work under high level direction in which goals and objectives are set, but the details of ?how? are omitted.
Experience with statistically designed experimental techniques and reliability analysis are highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and distill them into useful and actionable information.
Knowledge of the chemistries of plastics used in the food and beverage industry, such as PE, HDPE, PET, etc., highly desirable.
Hands on experience with analytical techniques, such as GCMS, FTIR, EDS, etc.
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in English.
Familiarity with numerical simulation, such as Monte Carlo techniques, is a strong plus.
Experience working with ionizing-radiation equipment strongly preferred. Familiarity with radiation dosimetry a strong plus.
Experience in designing biological sterilization validation experiments, and knowledge of associated FDA GMP practices is strongly desired.
This successful candidate must be a strong ?self-starter?.
