Applications Support Senior Consultant
Senior Consultants within the Applications Support team bring together knowledge and skills that allow them to operate and communicate flexibly across functional areas within both RSi and customer organizations. These consultants typically operate at a higher, more generalized level than their peers within the value creation group, having cross-customer responsibilities with a focus on analytical applications, custom service delivery and cross-functional collaboration. In addition to standard products they will be called upon to own the customer facing aspects of products that are currently under development and being offered as services rather than as a standard product. Examples of these currently include Perfect Store reporting and VMI Order Sensing.
Applications Support Sr. Consultants will potentially be involved in numerous projects and activities concurrently, giving them the opportunity to work closely with people in many different functional areas and levels of the organizational hierarchy. This holds true for both RSI and our customers. Relationship management and the ability to seamlessly coordinate cross-functionally will be key responsibilities.
Customer Relationship Management. Whether leading a customer driven project or interacting as part of service delivery, maintain strong, positive relationships with customer teams. Develop relationships that allow for increased business engagement and insight that drives better product and service decisions. Provide a face to the customer that increases their positive perception of RSi as a company.
Analytic Thinking. Bring to bear focused attention on sophisticated applications that depend on advanced statistical algorithms. Quickly grasp the nature of the underlying business and technical logic in order to troubleshoot potential opportunities and educate both customers and internal stakeholders on the capabilities of RSi OSA and forecasting products.
Project Management. Demonstrate strong organizational and project oriented methodological skills that allow for customer projects to be delivered to scope and requirements as well as within budget and timelines. Assist in refining and improving project management best practices within RSi and contribute to increased efficiency in scoping and delivering special project requests. Effectively manage customer transitions to new applications feature and functionality.
Customer Support. When responsible for service delivery related to RSi applications take the initiative to be the expert in the application and the subject matter it relates. Ensure that the application and service meets the needs of the customer in terms of knowledge transfer and training, delivery of ROI, the unique needs and challenges of specific customers.
Strategic Thinking. Consider both RSi and customer organizations holistically, consistently looking for solutions that can be applied broadly across the marketplace while still maintaining the flexibility needed to satisfy individual customer requirements. Think ahead to the next business problem our customers will face and provide input to Product Management, Customer Experience and other areas of RSi that will allow for the best decisions to be made on how to continue to develop our offering.
Cross Functional Collaboration. Energetically engage and build relationships across the RSI organization in areas such as Engineering, Product Management and Production Operations in order to build a network that ensures efficient delivery of analytic applications and custom projects and service delivery.
Leadership and Mentoring. As a strategically oriented, cross-functional member of the team leverage your experience and network to help develop and grow consultants in more junior roles. Create knowledge transfers, both formal and informal, that contribute to the professional growth of Customer Experience team members.
Skills and Experience Required
Master?s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance. Relevant mid-level CPG or Retail experience in consulting, supply chain, operations and/or category management valued equally to a degree.
Superior presentation skills and experience communicating (both oral and written) to all levels throughout an organization, from senior executives to front-line analysts.
Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis/mining software is a must; familiarity with SQL Server and/or Access valued.
Proven project management skills and a track record of delivering high quality results in a timely manner.
Conceptual knowledge and understanding of retailer and CPG supply chain and operations business processes.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to contribute to the growth and development of others.
Excellent customer relationship management skills. Ability to create and maintain strong connections to internal and external teams that enhance service and solution delivery.
Experience working with retail point-of-sale and syndicated data (e.g. Neilson and IRI) is favorable.
Experience working and leading collaboratively across multiple functional areas as part of a project or advisory team.
This opportunity requires between 10-50 % travel depending on the current client and project mix and can be located in any of the US offices (Providence, RI; Bentonville, AR; Mountain View, CA; or Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN) or remotely.
