Architect/Lead Engineer Contactual

Summary:

Contactual is seeking an architect/lead engineer for our San Carlos, CA location. This role will be extremely influential in driving the product architecture and company growth. Successful candidates will provide technical leadership for a team of local and offshore software engineers. As the lead/architect you will be responsible for design, architecture, and implementation of a SaaS-based application. The candidate will work with the product management team and other key stakeholders in developing requirements and design specifications.
Our successful candidate will have:

- 7+ years of experience in the design and development of large enterprise class projects (scalable, distributed, multithreaded, asynchronous I/O software)
- Strong OO fundamentals and experience in at least one OO language - C++ and/or JAVA
- Demonstrated experience in leading the architectural definition of a product
- Ability to effectively work with and lead a team and to influence others
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- A Bachelors (or higher) degree in Computer Science
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and change direction mid-course based on business drivers
- Experience developing applications on Linux and/or UNIX
- Ability to develop quick proof of concepts

Desirable:

- VOIP applications development, SIP applications Development, Media Server experience, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH
- SOA, Messaging (JMS, ActiveMQ, CORBA, etc), Middle Tier Development, XML, Web Services
- Exposure to RESTFUL, SOAP and WSDL
- Experience with HTML, J2EE Servlets, GWT,Ruby.
