Common information:We are currently seeking an Art Director for a full-time opportunity to join our Philadelphia area team of professionals. The Art Director is responsible for concept development and the execution of creative deliverables. These responsibilities include creating and communicating concepts, implementing advertising/marketing strategies and developing interactive design solutions. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, the Art Director will work with and lead the creative team of designers, copywriters and other design and production specialists. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal skills, this person will demonstrate an ability to work with the team to successfully translate concepts to visual expression.
Our ideal candidate will be a design enthusiast with 5 years of experience in a design strategy role with a robust creative background at a digital agency. Required skills include strong visual design skills, interaction design, typographical skills, a sound understanding of technology and user experience integration and functionality, and an in-depth understanding of cross-platform functionality. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are a must, along with an enthusiasm to be ahead of the ever-evolving digital design arena in order to achieve creative excellence. Experience working in the ecommerce or media and entertainment arenas would be a plus!

Requirements:
5 years of experience in a design strategy role;
Interactive agency experience is a must;
Solid background in visual content creation across multiple channels;
Experience leading a team of designers and production specialists, along with working alongside copywriters and content strategists in order to achieve creative excellence;
Mastery of all the latest design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software programs;
Comprehensive understanding of interactivity and functionality as applied to effective, innovative user-centered visual design;
Expertise with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution;
Love of collaboration across disciplines with team members at all levels;
Understanding of motion design and the strengths and limitations of Flash, Ajax, Flex, and other emerging platforms;
Passion for design, creative problem solving, and an endless appetite for precision and innovation;
Motivation, decisiveness, organizational skills, efficiency and dedication;
Strong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining absolute organization and prioritization under extreme pressure;
Ability to think and respond quickly to client and internal team demands, while maintaining extraordinary attention to detail;
Exceptional communication skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale for client and team plus the ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
Responsibilities:
Develop and communicate industry-leading creative concepts;
Balance strategic development with client business objectives;
Direct and delegate to project creative team, outside vendors, and specialists;
Contribute directly to project design and development;
Create comps, storyboards, initial graphic concepts and final deliverables;
Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables;
Mentor and coach team members through project development and performance management;
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partner agencies, outside specialists, and other vendors;
Contribute to the development of the studio's culture and quality standards;
Assist in fostering a studio environment that is on-brand including collaboration, trust, insight, innovation, agility, drive, passion, diversity, and analytics.
