We are seeking a creative and passionate Art Director to join our fast-growing Marketing team in our NYC office. The objective of this position is to enhance Booker?s brand identity and develop compelling design assets across several mediums: web, print, video, etc. Reporting to our VP of Marketing, you will own the entire visual expression of Booker?s brand from external marketing to our SaaS product?s user interface.
The ideal candidate is a high-energy, multidisciplinary designer with a flair for management and competencies in usability, testing, user research, interaction design, graphic design, information architecture, photography, typography, and content development.
Enhancing and maintaining of all Booker?s web properties: Booker.com, Spa-Booker.com, and SalonBooker.com.
Launching new web properties from concept to testing, and development to launch.
Designing and producing online advertising assets, including landing pages, graphic emails, and banner advertisements with the goal of achieving conversion and a strong visual brand expression.
Enhancing, maintaining, and enforcing Booker?s visual brand guidelines across all departments, employees, and partners.
Translating complex business requirements into compelling designs that balance business needs with strong visual expression.
Creating productive working relationships with business stakeholders by creating processes that enable a healthy back-and-forth to achieve quality work.
Designing and producing creative assets, including logos, graphic illustrations, and original artwork.
Creating visual prototypes, storyboards, and wireframes.
Presenting rationale for concepts and design directions to executives.
Mentoring and managing an in-house Visual Designer and two external development agencies.
Well-Rounded Design & Technical Competencies:
6+ years of experience leading and creating interactive and graphic design projects.
Bachelor?s degree required (MFA is preferred).
Outstanding portfolio of both visual and interaction design.
Ability to grasp and translate business requirements into creative visual designs.
Proven usability design and testing experience; can solve interface challenges with user-friendly and predictive design.
Hands-on experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Expert in photography, color theory, typography, and print production techniques
Video production is a plus.
Passion for achieving high-quality work through testing, iteration, and soliciting feedback from multiple parties.
Involvement in the design community is a plus (AIGA, Dribbble.com, etc.).
Copy writing and content strategy experience.
Management & General Competencies:
Ability to project-manage and coordinate multiple deliverables and resources simultaneously.
Strong player/coach who utilizes and maximizes the skills sets of other designers in fast-paced environment.
Great leader and sounding board who encourages participation during the design process.
Ability to balance business requirements with design through highly productive collaboration.
Ability to work with limited direction to satisfy high-level business objectives.
Agency/vendor management experience is a plus.
Ability to think outside of the box and present creative solutions.
Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting your ideas to a C-level audience.
