Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Assembly Technician with an A &P certification to join our growing team in Mississippi. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
Work primarily but not exclusively, in assembly of detail parts, subassemblies and assemblies. This includes adhesive bonded assemblies of metallic and non-metallic composite materials. The level of work performed is simple to moderately complex requiring some skill and experience in aerospace manufacturing. Position requires a person who can work with minimum supervision. A qualified candidate should be able to multi-task, take initiative and communicate clearly.
Use hand and power tools such as routers, drills, die grinders and other like tools to complete the required operations called out in the work instructions in a safe manner.
Use close tolerance measuring tools i.e. scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages and like tools.
Handling, mixing and applying various epoxy resin materials and systems.
Use and maintain customer supplied tooling in proper working order
Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Follow engineering planning and accurately fill out and complete work orders.
Keep a clean work area and have good work habits.
Participate in projects developing process improvement methods, solutions and procedures to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
High School graduate and technical school.
6-10 years of experience in fabrication and assembly of metallic and non-metallic parts used on operational aircraft or equivalent combination of education and training.
A&P Certification required
Be able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
MUST be a US Person or Permanent Resident Green Card Holder.
Ability to working within a manufacturing environment and able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
Shift Requirements (specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required):
Day shift with flexibility to work extend hours or other shifts as needed
