Description:Passport Health Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized pioneer developing innovative solutions for the healthcare industry and one of Healthcare Informatics Top 100 Healthcare Companies, is seeking an Assistant Controller.
The Assistant Controller is responsible directing the accounting operations of the Company including customer billings, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
The Assistant Controller is also responsible for the maintenance of effective internal control processes, documentation of accounting policies and procedures, and technical accounting research.
Duties:?Management of day-to-day accounting operations, including supervision, training and development of accounting staff members and maintenance of relevant information systems (Epicor, Invoice Automation, Infor, TimeZone, etc.).
?Timely and accurate preparation of the Company?s monthly financial statements and supporting analyses.
?Effectively documenting the financial transactions (e.g., journal entries, etc.) and accounts (e.g., balance-sheet account reconciliations, analytical reviews, etc.) of the Company.
?Drafting and maintaining the Company?s accounting policies.
?Maintaining up-to-date accounting procedures documenting the key accounting processes (e.g., customer billings, expense reporting, A/P invoice processing, etc.).
?Responsible for the documentation and monitoring of Finance-related internal control processes, including periodic testing of such controls. It is expected that the Company?s internal control processes are sufficiently documented and enforced so management may attest to the effectiveness of these controls, as the independent auditors make a report to the Audit Committee annually.
Other Duties as Required.
Qualifications:?Bachelor?s Degree in related field required.
?5 to 7 years accounting experience including monthly financial statement preparation/review and previous managerial experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
?Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in varying situations.
?Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
?Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
?Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
?Thorough knowledge of accounting software systems and applications.
?Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting principles including GAAP.
Certified Public Accountant designation required.
