The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in building and directing the organization?s accounting group in general areas of accounting, financial reporting and financial control implementation and review. Typically this role supports a specific division or client group. This individual is also responsible for overseeing day to day accounting functions and may play an instrumental role in the integration of new clients.

Establish and maintain the organization?s accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Oversee the preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports.
Analyze financial results, and utilize financial metrics to identify trends, opportunities and actionable items.
Presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Ensures books and records are accurate and closed in a timely manner on a monthly basis.
Liaison with auditors as needed during interim, ad hoc and year-end periods.
Hire, lead and develop direct reports.
Participates in special project and/or completes other duties as assigned.
Ability to travel 10% of the time on an ongoing basis. May be required to travel 20-25% during client due diligence and integration phases.
Experience with month-end close and reporting required
Strong analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving, to include writing functional policies and procedures
Strong aptitude for working with numbers
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
Ability to work well in a client-facing role, and work to client deadlines
A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Position Qualifications (Required)
Master?s degree within a related field from an accredited college/university
CPA or CPA candidate
7 years experience within an Accounting function
3 years experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or similar.
4 years experience with Accounting software
3 years of advance usage of Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel (macros, pivot tables, linking, etc.) and Access skills
Strong communications skills ? written and verbal
Position Qualifications (Preferred)
Experience within the healthcare industry
Experience with improving and reengineering processes, designing and implementing controls
Experience with Great Plains
Public accounting experience
