Newmarket International, Inc., a rapidly growing OnDemand (SaaS) and perpetual licensed software developer with worldwide operations headquartered in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a strong accounting professional to assume the role of Assistant Controller.
This position will manage the overall accounting function and work directly with the VP- Finance/Corporate Controller on a variety of accounting, tax and financial reporting activities both domestic and international. Specific responsibilities include management of monthly and annual closing process, including International operations (UK, Singapore, China, Australia, Macau), international cash management, management of annual consolidated audit, as well as separate international audits and foreign and domestic income tax, sales tax and VAT tax compliance, and Accounts Payable. In addition, the Assistant Controller will work on various special projects ranging from conducting tax and GAAP research to participating in due diligence reviews of acquisition candidates. Manage a staff of three direct and two indirect reports.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is strongly preferred
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years of public accounting experience
International accounting consolidations experience
Strong team management skills
Strong working knowledge of GAAP including Revenue Recognition
Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to change while maintaining high productivity and meeting deadlines
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Excel; knowledge of MS Great Plains Dynamics is a plus
