We are looking for a bright, energetic, business-minded and self-motivated transactional attorney with five to seven years of experience in the technology and/or Internet (preferably e-commerce) sectors; Internet marketing, advertising, promotions, regulatory law experience a plus but not required.
DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:
Support all of Gilt?s businesses in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including technology, vendor, license, business development, marketing, facilities and other commercial and operational contracts.
Provide advice on all legal matters affecting the business, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
May be asked to assist in corporate transactions, including M&A, partnerships, equity and debt financings and joint ventures, and securities law matters.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Must be an attorney with exceptional academic credentials with five to seven years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department.
Contract law and Internet or technology law experience required whether in a commercial contracts or transactional context. Internet marketing, advertising, regulatory, promotions law experience a plus.
Desire to become expert in all regulatory e-commerce matters affecting our businesses.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), contract drafting and negotiation skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have excellent issue identification and problem-solving skills.
Must be detail oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills.
Must be a confident individual with passion for work.
Must be a team player and boast a 'can do' attitude.
Ability to act autonomously.
An ideal candidate will also have a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and thrive in fast-paced environment, tempered by an appreciation of legal complexity and risk.
Strong desire to learn the business and function smoothly as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Must be able prioritize and to manage workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
