The Assistant Events Manager will contribute to organizational growth by making recommendations and overseeing the implementation and fulfillment of innovative events based product offerings for ASI authors.
The Assistant Events Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of professionals overseeing the fulfillment of the following services: Author Book Signings, Book Galleries, PitchFest, ASI executive speaking engagements, Combined Book Exhibits and other event focused services.
The Assistant Events Manager will ensure all contracts have been adequately negotiated to increase product margins while creating opportunities that individual authors cannot otherwise afford. The manager will provide weekly reports to AMS and ASI management, work closely with freelancers and vendors, and handle special projects for AMS management as required.
Strategic execution includes:
Provide guidance and direction to events team overseeing three direct reports and ensuring appropriate staffing for all ASI and partner events.
Work with Director on communication between sales and corporate marketing to ensure fulfillment needs are met and author issues are communicated prior to escalations occurring.
Provide recommendations to Director on training of new staff members and allocation of workload
Work with director on validation of invoices
Event execution includes:
Coordination of event logistics related to the fulfillment of author purchased products and executive seminars/workshops
Product/display material delivery
Set up of events displays, sampling, breakdown, analysis and report out for authors
Oversee fulfillment of all event services offered to authors, as well as ensuring proper communication prior to and after the event.
Ensuring on time/on budget delivery of all services.
Event staffing assignments and responsibilities including negotiation and acquisition temporary staffing of booth space
Assist in the promotion of market growth by generating leads for the sales force.
Education: High school diploma required. College Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years marketing/agency experience with 2-3 years in online/digital marketing.
Specific Skills: Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail, Internet use, and typing skills at 50 WPM
Physical Skill: Sufficient manual and digital dexterity to work with a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and phone pad.
Working Conditions: 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm core schedule with frequent flexibility for start and ending times. Additional hours and/or overtime depending on the position may be required due to business needs. Other duties may be required as assigned.
