Job Description: Sensors for Medicine and Science, Inc. has an opening for an Assistant or Associate Research Scientist to assist in the development of an implantable glucose sensor. The candidate must be familiar with basic chemical laboratory instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques. Our small research group provides an excellent opportunity for scientists to make genuine and highly visible contributions in the critical field of glucose monitoring devices.Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of chemical components of sensors or methods to test performance of those components
Perform research in chemistry under the supervision of an experienced scientist
Write work instructions, specifications and other documentation required for production or testing of sensors
Provide on-site support to contract manufacturers
Work with contract manufacturers to build production devices
Provide testing support during product development, including drafting of test plans and reports and execution of tests
Requirements:
BS or BA degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Recent graduates must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Undergraduate research or intern experience. Industrial experience is a strong plus.
Must be capable of assignments of an intermediate degree of complexity, working under little supervision on specific tasks or problems.
Good communication and writing skills
Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced and cross-disciplinary environment
