You will be developing the next generation of ADVISE. This major undertaking will involve incorporating the latest industry standard platform(s) and developing major new functional enhancements.
You will have full responsibility for the entire software development cycle for your projects: requirements, design, implementation, and testing, in a fast-paced, progressive development environment.
Your ability to deliver high quality, well designed and documented code is critical to our success and a matter of professional pride for you.
You will be developing the system and server-side layers of our multi-tiered enterprise solution (Operating System interfaces, system installation, configuration and management, application services, grid/cluster platform), utilizing a variety of open source and industry standard platform technologies. Primary languages include K, C, C and Java.
Areas of focus include scalability, fault tolerance, workflow and security, database integration, audit functionality, and integration with tools e.g. Excel, Crystal Reports, BizTalk, etc.
You will handle occasional email and phone technical support with customers.
Qualifications:
Experience developing sophisticated software systems. A focus on customer-facing GUI applications is a plus. You will be asked to describe some of your projects in detail.
A drive to produce technologies that exceed our customers expectations.
Interest in learning new business spaces, software systems and development languages.
Strong interpersonal skills. You should be comfortable with picking up the phone and talking to your coworkers and customers.
Pluses
Degree in Computer Science
GUI development (WinForms / Swing / WPF)
Web development (HTML / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery / MVC)
Database development (SQL / Data Design)
Experience with low level TCP/IP networking concepts
Experience with software development technology: Visual Studio, Subversion, Eclipse, JUnit etc.
Experience with designing (any or all) scalable, fault tolerant, concurrent, distributed, secure, multi-user, Enterprise software with integrated workflow that is fully auditable
Experience with numerically intensive applications and/or developing systems with large data sets.
