The Associate ASE is responsible for administrating, monitoring, and supporting MobiTV's 24x7x365 media services, with uptime standards found in broadcast television. Responsibilities also include acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the MobiTV Application suite and Operational Infrastructure so you can adequately troubleshoot and maintain the environment. Candidate will be responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving all technical outages as well as assisting with enhancement integration and change management processes. Candidate will also have the opportunity to lead selected projects that involve cross department resources to integrate new applications/functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primary support for MobiTV production environment with focus on uptime and quality of production services
- Proactively identify and resolve all MobiTV and MobiRadio service affecting issues
- Escalate complex issues timely and appropriately to QA and/or Engineering
- Maintain overall health of MobiTV services by performing routine administrative functions and quickly responding to all production outages
- Participate in the installation and configuration of both hardware and software for the infrastructure components
- Ensure all enhancements follow the proper change management processes
- Support non-production infrastructure (QA and Development Systems)
- Work with appropriate teams to identify areas for improvement with current systems and actively work to improve the quality, reliability, and supportability of existing infrastructure
- Identify and configure monitoring thresholds and alarms
- Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of Technical Support procedures and infrastructure
- Provide documented in-depth technical solutions for customer and other engineers
- Work on assignments of diverse and complex scope
Experience and Qualifications:
- Min 1-2 years of support experience.
- 3+ years in Linux/Redhat server administration experience and windows 2K3 admin experience
- 3+ years application support experience
- 3+ years working with 24x7x365 “live†co-locations facilities and remote Unix/Linux administration
- Interoperability experience with Windows, Linux and/or OSX
- Excellent in customer service support, verbal and written skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging capability
- Strong aptitude for learning quickly, adapting to fast paced environment and handling competing priorities
- Ability to professionally react to high-priority requirements with little or no notice
- Ability to balance competing priorities and work alone or within a team equally well
- Ability to travel to office and data center locations for on-site support, as needed
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to document solutions and train other staff
- Understanding of IP networking concepts: routing, subnetting, access controls
- Experience with configuring SNMP and monitoring tools
- High level of integrity with strong work ethic
- Excellent, proven time management skills
- Bash, Python, Perl, and/or any other scripting or data handling knowledge a plus
- Regex experience a plus
- Any general knowledge of XML, Oracle, and MySQL a plus
- Experience working with developer environments and CVS/RCS/Perforce a plus
