A core part of Insmed?s near-term strategy to build the company beyond ARIKACE by acquiring, in-licensing, or co-promoting high clinical impact commercial pulmonary products as well as promising late clinical stage products that are complementary to ARIKACE and our core competencies. The Associate Director of Corporate Development will report to the Company?s Vice President, Corporate Development and Commercialization. This role will initially be based in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, but as June 2014 will be based at our new Bridgewater, New Jersey headquarters.
The Associate Director of Corporate Development will have a central leadership role in shaping and executing Insmed?s near-term and long-term corporate development strategy.
In a proactive and assertive manner, identify, assess, recommend, and ultimately execute acquisitions, in-licensing agreements, partnering, and other related corporate opportunities to enhance the value of Insmed?s business.
Work directly with the senior leadership team to shape and execute Insmed?s strategy outside the United States, including evaluating partnering opportunities in key markets, including but not limited to, Europe, Japan, and Canada.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharma / biotech management consulting, investment banking, venture capital / private equity, or pharma / biotech business development
Demonstrated leadership in partnering cross-functionally with senior executives to drive key company decisions
Ability to cultivate external business relationships and generate interest in entering into corporate development discussions with Insmed
Excellent analytical skills, including ability to independently build financial models to support corporate development decisions (valuations, return analyses, market and IS/BS/CF forecasting)
Strong at characterizing opportunities in new diseases and/or indications, including building commercial go-to-market strategies
Bachelor?s degree (life science major preferred) required; additional post-graduate training preferred
MBA a plus, but not a requirement
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
