Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis BIND Therapeutics
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will drive BIND's planning processes including budgeting, long-range planning, and forecasting. This position will work closely with Accounting and department budget owners to ensure expense accuracy, capital project evaluation and process compliance in accordance with established guidelines. The successful candidate will possess excellent finance and analytical skills, and broad business and financial acumen, along with strong communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into key messages and actions.
Manage the financial analysis, reporting, and monitoring of operating results company-wide.
Manage the development and implementation of cost center budgets and forecasts.
Provide sound financial guidance to functional leaders to ensure financial objectives are aligned with strategic goals and operational business plans.
Track, analyze, and report on actual spending and budget/forecast variance.
Ensure all associated risks and opportunities, both near term operational and longer term strategic are identified and reviewed periodically.
Provide financial modeling, analysis and decision support for all significant initiatives/decisions.
Contribute to the development of strategic business plans. Translate strategic plans and forecasts into financial plans and projections to ensure that the organization can measure the key drivers and achieve its financial targets.
Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting of financial key performance indicators.
Review of purchase orders and capital appropriation requisitions to assure compliance with policies and verify budget funding availability.
Support accounting close processes.
Continually work to improve the forecasting and planning process to drive increased accuracy and efficiency.
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance
Public accounting experience preferred
Biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred
8+ years related work experience in finance or related discipline
Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices
Collaborative work style with the ability to effectively influence and work cross-functionally
Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and presentation skills, with successful track record of working with senior management
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
