Associate Director, Local Marketing & Media BrandMuscle
The Associate Director of Local Marketing & Media is responsible for supervising and leading the local Media Planning and Buying Team, providing strategic support and recommendations for client media programs and working closely with the Business Development Team on new business opportunities as they relate to media services.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing successful marketing programs for local dealers, agents and franchisees using a wide variety of traditional and digital marketing tactics; will be comfortable working directly with corporate stakeholders and internal teams; and will have a passion for effective results-oriented local marketing.
Bringing together different media buying disciplines for integration across media
Expanding the client relationship through proactive and innovative project management, driving internal contacts to ensure timely deliverables to the client, and strategizing with clients for future business opportunities.
Providing in-depth reporting and analysis of client marketing programs and usage
Overseeing projects of a complex nature, including assigning individual responsibilities for the project team, identifying appropriate resources needed and developing a schedule to ensure completion of projects.
Providing day-to-day leadership and management to staff by communicating job expectations; reviewing and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing guidelines and productivity standards
Recommending and taking action to assist in the analysis and solutions of client issues and problems in the best interest of both the client and Brandmuscle
Identifying opportunities to improve the planning, media buying and project management processes and ensure that all team members have the tools and training necessary to meet the needs of Brandmuscle clients
Collaborating with the executive management team to set direction and find solutions to address business opportunities
Communicating financial goals effectively to Local Media Planning and Buying Team
Developing and recommending short and long-term objectives, marketing plans, strategies and tactics for products
Hiring and ongoing development of Local Media Planning and Buying personnel
A Bachelor?s degree is required
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas of the business
Prior experience leading and managing a Media Planning and Buying team
Strong negotiation skills a must
Familiarity with a variety of approaches to developing and tracking the effectiveness of local marketing plans
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret media trends, order data, and client usage
Strong knowledge of Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to find creative solutions to problems
Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments at a given time
Ability to provide well-focused tactical plans that result in measurable success and better-than-market performance
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
Some travel required
Advertising industry knowledge, commitment to client service
7+ years of ad agency or client side advertising management experience. Media planning and buying experience are essential. Knowledge and experience with traditional, digital SEO/SEM, direct response, and alternative media.
