ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - RESEARCH Nodality, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Associate Director, Research at our headquarters in South San Francisco. The scope of research will address analysis of immune cell signaling in the context of development of therapeutic drugs and diagnostic tests in cancer immunotherapy and autoimmune disorders. This position reports to the Vice President, Research and will:
Effectively lead and manage project team(s) to complete innovative research or development efforts.
Communicate effectively with external collaborators applying Nodality's technology to drug development collaborations spanning autoimmune and oncology indications.
Lead group comprising research scientists and associates
Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams addressing complex problems and diverse scientific and clinical questions, leveraging a broad interdisciplinary perspective
Work effectively on complex problems that require broad interdisciplinary perspective
Independently conceive, communicate and, where agreed upon, initiate new projects.
Review group's research or development progress in the context of patent applications and new product introductions.
Education and Experience:
PhD in a scientific discipline (or equivalent experience if all other criteria are met). Strong immunology background is highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years' prior industry experience in progressively responsible scientific positions including management and mentoring of Research Associates and PhD level Scientists
Drug development experience is essential
Knowledge of principles of flow cytometry highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Collaborative management/leadership style; demonstrable ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure project advancement
Expert, in-depth knowledge of scientific principles and keen enthusiasm for the application of science to benefit patients.
Well-developed ability to collate and synthesize information from other disciplines into clear well defined hypotheses.
Ability to place work in the context of clearly framed questions
Demonstrable ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to make contributions across departments, and to effectively interact across departments in pursuit of company goals.
