SiliconSlopes.com is looking for an associate editor/reporter to cover Utah technology companies, especially startups. We're looking for someone who can dig into data and then interview executives, developers and investors to help explain the Utah ecosystem.
Job Summary
Work closely with the managing editor on site strategy, editorial voice, editorial calendar and overall digital initiatives for Siliconslopes.com Responsibilities include researching, interviewing, writing, editing and data analysis. The successful applicant will be a self-starter, able to manage their own work and helpful in building the Silicon Slopes brand. Additional skills that would be helpful include the ability to shoot and edit both still and video photography and Wordpress site management experience. Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 1 year professional journalism experience (print/online/TV)
Ability to work under pressure
Business, financial statement knowledge
Previous startup experience is a plus
Excel fluency is strongly preferred
Strong writing, editing, and copy editing skills
Strong organizational skills and solid work ethic
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of current business news and technology trends
