Most sales start at noon ET and last only 36 hours, making Gilt.com an addictive destination for aspirational shoppers from coast to coast.Gilt is looking for an up and coming Associate Photographer to focus on a range of shoots (still life and on-figure) in our Brooklyn Navy Yard studios. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of photo assisting or digital tech experience in an e-commerce or luxury photo studio environment. Candidates must submit a portfolio along with resume to be considered and must have demonstrated still-life experience and passion. This position reports directly into the Senior Photography Manager.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Art Directors, Stylist and Photo Manager on concept development and photographing tabletop merchandise (soft goods, accessories, jewelry, home goods, etc.) as well as on figure RTW product
Maintain and assure adherence to the lighting and style guides as set up by the photography manager and styling team
Manage product shot list, file naming, cropping, uploading and other image preparation and maintenance between studio & retouching
Strive to maintain high productivity goals as both a member of a team and as an individual
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in a Commercial Photography environment
Proficient in Digital Photography and Canon systems
Solid working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Capture One 6
Exceptional Lighting Skills and knowledge of Profoto lighting systems
Proficient with Mac OS
Energetic, Creative, and Detail Oriented
Good communication and organizational skills
Able to juggle multiple tasks in an ever changing, fast-paced environment
Able to work well independently and with a team
Open to learning and critique
Strong portfolio with demonstrated still-life, and On figure experience and passion
