The Associate Project Manager is a mid-level team member responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, either as sole project manager on standard projects or as support on more complex efforts. The candidate will implement and support project methodology with minimal direct supervision. Please note this is not a technical position.
Delivery of overall project(s) as assigned.
Facilitate and lead project team towards project goal(s).
Define and achieve project objectives by effectively managing schedule, scope, quality, risk and project resources of assigned projects.
Create & maintain relevant client specific project management documentation utilizing standard templates such as Project Scope Statements, Open Items, Weekly Status reports, Risk Management documents, and Post Implementation Reviews.
Schedule and facilitate project conference calls, both internal and external calls with clients.
Meet weekly with project team to confirm completion of required activities and communicate crucial details of upcoming events in project cycle.
Serve as a single point of contact between the client and other Envestnet project team members.
Manage escalations and critical path items to ensure project completion.
Serve as a consulting source for project team who require assistance / information regarding PMO processes
Provide thought leadership in continuing development of project management process and client on-boarding experience.
Continue to expand project management skill set by partnering with other PMO members to increase knowledge of best practices and project tools.
Participate in weekly and other departmental / team meetings to review projects, discuss best practices & provide input on improving project management processes.
Assist Supervisor on an as needed basis, including support of new processes as dictated by department or corporate strategies.
Update standard PMO templates when new steps or changes to process are needed.
Collect & summarize Post Implementation Review and survey data to identify trends and facilitate necessary changes to process.
Develop & expand knowledge of Envestnet?s proprietary platform (UMP) by participating in formal & informal training and partnering with other PMO & Envestnet department members.
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum two (2) years of financial industry experience preferred.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a project management role.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Expert with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint; prior experience with Microsoft Project & Visio is a plus.
Prior work with external clients, preferably in a project management capacity.
Knowledge of project management methodology.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Must be able to comprehend and act on information communicated via various methods including but not limited to verbally and via email from internal & external resources.
Must be flexible, well organized, and assertive in order to complete multiple tasks and meet the demands placed on his/her time.
Works well as a member of a team with collaborative decision making.
Must demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy and be able to work with a variety of personalities.
Creative thinker with ability to work and thrive in changing & entrepreneurial environment.
Performs under moderate supervision.
