Associate Scientist - Chemistry Ensemble Discovery

Ensemble Therapeutics is conducting original research aimed at identifying novel
therapeutic agents using a proprietary DNA-programmed chemistry technology.
Currently we are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our drug discovery
chemistry team and contribute to the synthesis of macrocyclic libraries employing
Ensemble?s DNA programmed chemistry platform.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
? Perform/complete the synthesis of bioconjugates of oligonucleotides and small
organic molecules.
? Purification and analysis of nucleic acid bioconjugates using modern analytical
techniques (primarily semi-preparative HPLC, dPAGE, and LC-MS).
? Aid in the construction of DNA-tagged chemical libraries using the company?s
DNA Programmed Chemistry (DPC) platform
? Develop methodology and optimize reaction conditions for the exploration of
novel reactions in the context of DNA programmed chemistry.
? Accurately record experimental work and present results to internal audiences.
Education/Experience
Reporting to the Director of DPC Technologies, this position requires a talented chemist
with a sound knowledge of organic chemistry including thorough experience with
modern methods for purification and characterization of organic and bioconjugated
molecules. Prior experience in preparation and purification of oligonucleotides and/or
peptides would be highly advantageous.
? BS or MS. in chemistry or biochemistry with 2-3 years relevant industrial
experience.
? Prior experience in HPLC
? Familiarity with mass spec instrumentation and software is a plus
? Familiarity with commonly used software such as MS Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, Chemdraw, and E-notebook.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a
multi-discipline team environment.
