Organization and Purpose
The Associate Scientist is responsible for investigating and resolving technical issues and assists with new product transfer. The position also is responsible for providing technical support to the field service team and to customers as warranted.
Scope and Impact
The position provides technical support to the field team and customers. Additionally, this position coordinates multi-functional product improvement projects, late stage product development projects, product transfer to manufacturing and validations.
Provide technical support to field team. May involve travel.
Conduct investigations of customer complaints; documents results of investigations; write investigation reports.
Develop and validate product parameters for use on automated instrumentation.
Conduct special studies of increasing complexity that arise to support manufacturing and the field. Document in design reports. Assist as needed on additional studies.
Coordinate large scale project improvement projects, technical transfer activities with technical from a senior member of the team. Write validation protocols and reports.
Assists with late stage product development prior to launching new products to market; such as to perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, coordinate performance testing on large scale project, set up procedures and specifications for manufacturing. Writes appropriate reports.
Writes or revises Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain clinical laboratory analyzer knowledge to support product in the field and assist in troubleshooting issues.
Responsible for in-depth investigations involving biochemical and analytical testing.
