This is an opportunity for a highly motivated college graduate who is interested in a unique entry level opportunity as a software engineer within our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills to assist in the development of a best in class suite of products. This position provides opportunities to complete assigned software development tasks within appropriate schedule, task, and quality guidelines set by senior member(s) of project. The Software Engineer performs product design, bug verification, release testing, and support with basic research and analysis. In addition, will also perform maintenance and enhancement of existing product modules, prepare program documentation of product components and establish technical proficiency in design, implementation and unit testing.
? Responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining, and testing software component(s) which are part of a larger software project.
? Correct defects and make minor enhancements
? Effectively document technical issues, changes to code, etc.
? Work under the guidance of more senior project members to gain experience, understanding, and expertise necessary to complete assigned tasks.
? Assist senior team members with moderately complex duties (such as Analysis and Design) to gain exposure to more complex software development tasks.
? Gain an understanding of configuration management, packaging methodology & techniques.
? Maintain the integrity of assigned components throughout the life cycle within the integrated, technical environment.
? Provide regular status and progress towards milestones with ones manager.
? Become familiar with industry developments via trade journals, conferences, or educational opportunities.
? Basic knowledge of PCs, hardware, software, operating systems and database management systems.
? Requires problem-solving skills to resolve varied problems. Requires decision-making skills to make procedural decisions.
? At least some intern or similar experience in software design, engineering or web development.
? Past experience in a software engineer or design position is desirable. Experience in a talent management disciplines is also valuable, including: recruiting and onboarding; performance management; succession management and development; compensation planning, including salary, incentive and stock; contingent workforce and vendor management; employee communications; workforce compliance and diversity initiatives.
? Passionate about writing well structured and easy to maintain code.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
? At least some intern or similar experience working in a project environment, documenting process, or a comparable deadline-driven work environment.
? Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented person who places a high priority on accuracy.
? Demonstrated experience working in an environment with multiple tasks and strict deadlines.
? Position requires a B.S. in Computer Science/related field or equivalent technical training and work experience.
? Basic knowledge and understanding of the relevant technologies and platforms and understanding of design and coding techniques (ie. Java, .NET, Oracle, SQL Server)
