Associate Software Quality Engineer The Software Engineer, Quality is responsible for ensuring the quality of the assigned products or features. The Software Engineer, Quality creates technical test plans and test designs for the product or feature being tested and executes manual or automated test scripts across the multiple platforms that are supported, for the client, server and database. The Software Engineer, Quality works with a team of Quality Engineers/Analysts and participates in the identification, development, creation and improvement of the technical testing processes and framework and infrastructure. Essential Functions: • Develops ability to ensure the quality of assigned applications. • Works closely with a content expert. • Participates with a team of Quality Engineers / Analysts to learn, identify, develop, create and improve technical testing processes and framework. • Installs Lawson product into the test environments. • Develops ability to configure Lawson Software on different technologies such as: O/S platforms, web/application servers, LDAP servers and relational databases. • Assists with developing automated testing tools and test frameworks. • Creates manual test or automated test cases based on technical and certification requirements. • Documents all test scripts in a common repository. • Participates in code reviews for test scripts within the test group. • Executes test scripts across the multiple platforms that are supported, for the client, server and database. • Enters product failure issues into the problem tracking system found during execution. • Executes test scripts and analyzes the output from the test scripts to ensure regressions and new features of the products' during a release cycle. Minimum Qualifications: • 0-1+ years experience in software development, testing and support • Currently seeking a degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Familiarity with software development processes, models, lifecycles and methodologies • Interest in knowledge on ERP Applications • Familiarity with test planning, designing, defect tracking and test case/script creation and execution. • Familiarity with integration & regressions testing and coordination with supporting systems. • Microsoft office product knowledge • Familiarity of various hardware, operating systems, web/application server and relational databases. • Familiarity of structured and object oriented application development and SQL programming. • Knowledge of programming languages, such as: C, C++, HTML, Cobol, Visual Basic, and Java • Strong verbal and written skills • Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills • Strong analytical and technical skills • Team work and organizational skills • Self-motivation and discipline, ability to multi-task. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Familiarity of various Internet/web based application architectures. • Familiarity of physical and logical network infrastructures.
