We are seeking an Attorney Development Relationship Manager for our New York office.
What We?re Looking For
The Attorney Development Relationship Manager will manage a portfolio of Axiom attorneys and act as their first point of contact for all matters during their career. This is a critical role with a direct and immediate impact in maintaining our attorney value proposition and realizing revenue for the New York office.
The Relationship Manager will:
Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing attorneys by offering them a introduction to our business model and attorney value proposition;
Develop trusted relationships with each Axiom attorney in his/her portfolio;
Conduct regular check-ins with Axiom attorneys to gauge interest, performance and overall satisfaction in their Axiom career and current engagement;
Provide Axiom attorneys performance feedback from clients, as appropriate and alongside the Practice Management team, on both a periodic and annual basis;
Provide feedback and discussion of Axiom ?citizenship? (such as attendance at Axiom functions; involvement in Axiom lawyer initiatives; and connection with Axiom, generally);
Lead strategic initiatives (such as facilitating professional development opportunities, planning and coordinating special events, and providing training to Attorneys, etc.);
Develop a deep understanding of the skills, practice areas, seniority and industry experience of the Axiom lawyers within various practice areas;
Analyze client demand and assist Attorney Recruitment in calibrating our lawyer hiring strategy based on practice area, experience level and geography;
Keep fully updated on current state of the market, law firm and in-house hiring trends; and
Work alongside other Axiom offices and departments, including Practice Management, Marketing, Finance, and Information Technology to ensure seamless coordination within Axiom.

5+ years of professional experience within a law firm, recruitment agency or corporate in-house environment, or in a Human Resources department.
Highly persuasive communication skills (both verbal and written);
The ability to effectively assess candidate skills and interests to help them meet their professional development goals;
Demonstrable ability to coach, mentor, teach and develop others;
The ability to assess attorneys? continued fit, ability and commitment to the Axiom model;
The poise and maturity to interact with senior level, highly experienced lawyers and/or clients, including the confidence and sensitivity to deliver tough or constructive feedback;
Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills;
High-level organizational skills, together with the ability to operate in an often high-pressured and fast-paced environment
Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint);
Demonstrable interest in the Axiom model and the future of ?new model? firms and their place in the changing legal landscape; and
Juris Doctor preferred.
