Description
In this position, you will help create cutting-edge audio signal processing hardware and software. By drawing upon your studio and live sound engineering experience, youll define the audio functionality for various product solutions.
- Specify and document optimum audio signal processing functionality for a variety of products.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to discuss ideas, approaches and concepts.
- Research and present existing best-practices for various audio engineering tasks.
- Create and demonstrate proof-of-concepts by using custom and off-the-shelf audio processing hardware/software.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in studio and live sound engineering, ranging from small-scale project studios/clubs to large-scale recording studios/venues.
- Substantial experience with analog and digital audio signal processing equipment, both standalone and computer-based, including audio interfaces, mixers, microphones, microphone preamps, effects processors, etc.
- Significant experience with a wide range of audio plug-ins.
- Expert-level skills in one or more studio/live audio production environments (ProTools, Cubase, Venue, digital mixers, etc).
- Prior experience as a product manager is highly desired.
- Experience with various audio processing programming environments (Pd, Max/MSP) or knowledge of basic DSP functionality is also a plus.
Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Formal experience as a technical writer is a plus.
- Fluent in Mac and Windows.
- Must be able to effectively capture ideas/opinions from various sources and distill them into design directions that will yield optimum results.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both creative and technical disciplines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet frequent deadlines.
