Audio/Visual Production Manager Etsy
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED About the IT Team
The IT Team at Etsy is responsible for building, maintaining, and extending all of the pieces of technology that the company uses in its Brooklyn and remote offices. This is a cross-functional position that works closely with the Events Team on production and content of events. You will also work with our Video Team when it comes to equipment and best practices.
About the Position
The Audio/Visual Production Manager is responsible for creating engaging, informative streamed content for the Etsy community of sellers and buyers. You will be managing sound, lighting, cameras, laptop-to-projector display and remote streaming across a range of events and needs, including company meetings, public events in our multi-use Etsy Labs space, and parties with live music.
For live events, you?ll ensure that speakers are properly equipped with their preferred microphone, adjust sound levels and lighting, manage projector/presentation set-up and record video and audio content. You will troubleshoot problems that occur with any of these systems.
For events that are streamed live in our Online Labs (sometimes concurrent with a live event), you?ll manage our pre-production, live production and post-production using Livestream?s Studio and Procaster software (training provided as needed). This includes creating professional sound, lighting and framing scenarios, and liaising with hosts and guest speakers to make sure they feel comfortable with the set up, shot list and event flow. You will manage all the back-end production elements, including scheduling, adding titles and other multi-media effects, archiving and data analysis.
You should be able to offer creative concepts and pragmatic suggestions to create the most engaging content, as well as help on-camera talent envision what the result will be, achieving a balance between the need to entertain and the need to inform. You are excited about creating new ways to promote live and archived content.
You?ll manage video assets and any conversions, editing, and enhancements for distribution.
This role will also eventually include development of a training program for remote employees and guests using Livestream. You?ll do the testing (on-site and remote assistance) of their equipment, as well as researching and making equipment recommendations.
You?ll be responsible for keeping up with current state-of-the-art technologies relevant to presentation systems, audio/video equipment and streaming media. You?ll perform preventive magic on our equipment, and when maintenance doesn?t work and trouble arises, you?ll isolate and resolve the problem. You will work with vendors and providers on ordering, installation and troubleshooting.
You have a strong background with:
Managing audio/video hardware ? cameras, mixers, wired and wireless microphones
Streaming/encoding over the Web (experience with Livestream preferred)
Live video/audio operations and live broadcast production
Directing multiple camera broadcasts
Working with all major SD and HD video formats and video conversion
Knowledge of audio and lighting workflows
PC and Mac operating systems and networking protocols
Working knowledge of Internet streaming topologies and bandwidth requirements
Using video editing software to compress files and edit visual or audio irregularities
We can?t wait to meet you if you:
Have a passion for hacking, making, art, design and small business ? and the role that technology can play in these fields.
Have 5 years experience doing A/V and technical support at live events ranging from small to large gatherings.
Have fantastic communication skills, build relationships and are diplomatic while being straight with people.
Are driven and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Your ninja skills make the show run super smoothly.
Have an incredible attention to detail. No spec - big or small - gets past you.
Would be a millionaire if you had a nickel for every time you successfully troubleshot a piece of equipment.
Don?t mind working late hours and the occasional weekend if it means the event goes smoothly.
Have experience with Livestream applications.
Have experience using HVX 200A or similar camera. You know how to make the shot look perfect.
Are highly proficient with FinalCut Pro.
We?ll give a preference to anyone who can supply a demo reel showing camera experience or who has sound-proofed an event space.
