Provide management and scheduling of preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and fulfill QA/QC requirements.
Facilitate cross-department communication regarding status of equipment installation, scheduling maintenance, documentation, and addressing current needs and instrumentation concerns.
Act as liaison between outside service providers and end users.
Respond to service and support requests on-site at the Alameda facility in a timely manner to maximize up-time and sample throughput in both a clinical and research setting.
Provide instrument configuration and installation support for laboratory automation equipment.
Instruct end users in the proper operation and maintenance of complex laboratory instrumentation.
Prepare appropriate QA/QC documentation for preventative maintenance and post instrument installation and service.
Track and update root cause analysis documentation for instrument issues; experience with Salesforce CRM software desirable.
Participate in on-call rotation to support instrumentation.
Will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis on weeknights as well as weekends.
BS/BA degree in engineering or related field required, with 5-8 years relevant work experience and in-depth knowledge of system development principles, concepts, and theories.
Proven experience in developing and supporting laboratory automation for use in a regulated environment (e.g., TECAN, Hamilton platform).
Experience in creating/editing automation scripts is strongly desired.
Knowledge of immunoassay methods used for protein analysis.
Experience with GLP and CLIA regulatory requirements desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to understand, prepare, and communicate technical scientific information to a wide range of audiences.
Experience in preventive maintenance (PM) management, reliability tracking processes, software and ability to compile clear and complete Root Cause Analysis documentation highly desirable.
Knowledge of immunoassay methods used for protein analysis, with experience in the following assay formats highly desirable: ELISA, bead (e.g., Luminex platform), or ECL.
Knowledge of statistics, Design of Experimentation (DOE), and Risk analysis (FMEA, Cause and Effect, Fishbone Diagram, etc.).
Experience with GLP, QSR, and ISO regulatory requirements for In-Vitro Diagnostic products.
