Technicians and Trade Skills â€" SpaceX is continuing to build our highly skilled technician and trades workforce; the extensive in house development and production capabilities at SpaceX would not be possible without their contributions. The Job
Responsibilities
- Perform manufacturing/production activities according to space standards in the areas of: mechanical assembly, soldering, conformal coating, epoxy application, crimping and wire harness assembly
- Troubleshoot and report any variations from the established plan to the Manager or Lead Technician in a timely manner
- Communicate between quality and production groups
- Support production assemblies, non-flight hardware and/or R&D programs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years work related experience in the Aerospace PCBA industry
- Minimum 3 years soldering experience in surface mount technology (SMT) printed circuit boards(PCB) including the use of soldering iron and heat gun
- Minimum 3 years building cables and harnesses experience
- Experience reading schematics and blueprints
- Read, understand and work effectively with mechanical drawings and documentation including Bills of Material, assembly drawings travelers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of ERP traveler data input
- Familiar with NASA Standards for Soldering, Cable, or able to certify and maintain certification in 1 or more NASA standards
- Rework/Touch capabilities to component size of 0402
- Ability to solder both surface mount and through-hole components
- Experience in both tin lead and lead free soldering
- Ability to work using a microscope
- Ability to solder fine pitch components
- Ability to build cables and harnesses
- Must be able to work 1st shift on a daily basis, 6am â€" 2:30pm
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Strong team working skills and excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position.
Preferred skills
- Expertise in PCB rework and soldering, to include use of Solder Pot and mini wave solder stations
