Our flagship product, Meetings.io, has made a big impact in online communications; now we are taking it to the next level. We?re looking for bright, ambitious people to help build the next evolution of Meetings.io and to bring real time collaboration to the Jive platform.At Meetings.io we operate as a startup but have the backing and resources of a large company, so our development cycle is fast. We?re looking for strong backend engineers to help build and improve our platform as we develop in new technologies such as WebRTC and Mobile. As a backend engineer, you?ll make an immediate impact building and maintaining a range of web and real-time technologies.
Responsibilities
Work with Software Engineering team to build next generation Meetings.io backend architecture
Work with the team maintaining codebase of existing meetings.io backend systems
Build high performance, reliable and resilient systems
Collaborate and interact in innovating with the team
Identify and communicate software engineering best practices
Requirements
Experience with PHP, Node.js and Java a bonus
Experience with MVC Web frameworks
Strong understanding of Unix/Linux system administration
Strong understanding of TCP/IP
Strong understanding of HTTP/SMTP/DNS and other fundamental Internet protocols
Understanding of a streaming protocol (RTP, RTMP, RTMFP etc.)
Understanding of caching systems such as Memcached
Understanding of MongoDb or similar NOSQL data-stores
Understanding of SQL and relational databases
Passion for learning new technologies and systems
Interest in working in a polyglot environment on complex systems
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
