Battery Process Engineer #178 Nanosys
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
neer to develop processes and equipment for producing silicon composite nanomaterials. This individual will be responsible for developing novel processes to allow high volume synthesis.
We are looking for a dynamic person who is able to think independently and is driven to achieve results. This position is responsible for the development and scale-up of powder-based synthesis that is also related to nano-particle deposition and CVD processes. Fundamental understanding of CVD processes is needed. A track record of successful development and production experience with CVD processes is a plus. Candidate must have experience with nano-particle deposition, chemical synthesis, material characterization, equipment maintenance and upgrades, and an understanding of overall process flow issues. Knowledge of flow work is a plus. Experience in both R&D and manufacturing organizations is desired. Candidate will work with a team of engineers, scientists and technicians to develop overall process, with attention paid to performance, yield and economic benefits and advantages.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide engineering ownership for nano-particle deposition and CVD processing. The responsible engineer must:
Design and execute experiments to successfully develop and implement new processes
Design and execute experiments to scale processes to higher volumes
Develop and write SOPs for new processes; provide technical training to operators during process implementation
Work with mechanical engineers and equipment vendors on design, installation and qualification of custom process equipment
Present experimental results and project status at regular meetings
Maintain and improve existing processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Engineering knowledge in CVD processing including gas flow, vacuum systems, heating systems, process control
Ability to develop processes at laboratory scale, anticipate and identify scale-up issues, troubleshoot and solve technical issues
Demonstrated skills in inorganic and/or organometallic synthesis, separation and characterization methods
Ability to work effectively and independently in a goal-driven multi-disciplinary team environment
Safety conscious, committed to adhering to EH&S rules and regulations
Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Education, Experience and Certifications:
BS degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent and relevant industrial experience, MS or Ph.D. preferred
Demonstrated success in process development at the lab, prototype and manufacturing scale
Some experience working on novel materials outside of the mainstream silicon industry is a plus.
