THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Betaworks, a media company building innovative products driven by data and a social world, is looking for a director of sales development. This is a full-time staff position based in our bustling New York studio.
As marketers work with us to tap into our unique perspective and tangible products for brand innovation, this position will work in support of driving revenue. The sales development director will report to our Chief Revenue Officer and serve a full spectrum of roles across the pre- and post-sales process with a strong eye toward building highly creative and effective client solutions and delivering them.
We are looking for a self-starter who understands the agency and media world but is excited to join a small team that is exploring new ways to help brands reach audiences. The role requires agility, multi-tasking and a deep love of innovation.
Betaworks has enjoyed considerable success, creating many products such as DOTS (the no.1 mobile game download), bit.ly, Tweetdeck and Giphy ? a search engine for gifs. We have acquired and relaunched both Digg and Instapaper and been early investors in companies such as Tumblr and Twitter. This role is part of the exciting next phase of Betaworks as we look for more opportunities to connect our products and teams with brands and agencies
Managing the pipeline of deal flow across the company
Building proposals and other sales marketing collateral in support of partnerships with brands
Project managing execution of complex creative executions, collaborating within our team with our head creative as well as the product leads within the individual companies at Betaworks
Supporting dialogue with the partner during and after programs to help our partners become our strong advocates and evangelists of our unique formula for innovation
Serving as an ?evangelist? for Betaworks and our portfolio companies internally and externally; clearly articulate the company?s unique value proposition
Providing effective oversight of internal resources to help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high creative standard
Promoting a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork
Desired Skills and Experience:
The ideal person will have at least three years experience building client solutions ? most likely within a publisher/media company or agency. The candidate should have a strong bias and experience in digital, at the most innovative end of the spectrum. Candidates should have a track record of delivering successful projects that go far beyond the expected norms and enjoy pushing the envelope. This candidate should be an excellent marketer and strategist, able to build the case for the solution.
You must be able to present well, think on your feet and continually look for opportunities. You should be a self-starter, an entrepreneur at heart, and excited by the new possibilities for brands and technology. Learning should be a passion. You should have an interest in the start-up world, but not necessarily direct experience.
