As a Product Manager at Evolv, you would lead cross-functional teams to define and vet product strategy and features both internally and with customers/prospects, then work closely with engineering to design, spec, and release products our customers will love. In this high visibility role, you will bridge the technical and business worlds as you build new product with engineering and then communicate outbound about our product capabilities and releases with sales and marketing, with existing and prospective customers, and with the industry, helping drive sales and collecting ideas and feedback that shape our product vision and roadmap.
With a specific core focus on big data analytics technology, you will have the exciting opportunity to own the product strategy, specification and market success of Evolv?s nascent Big Data Analytics product set. You will bring your BI and/or Big Data industry expertise and good judgment to bear in taking an early product prototype and fleshing it out into a complete product.
The right person for this position will be comfortable wearing many hats in the fast-paced work environment of a rapidly growing company, where a typical day may include everything from calls with existing and prospective clients, to debating product strategy with the CEO, to removing roadblocks for the engineering team. You'll need to be a great communicator, expressing your ideas clearly and succinctly to a wide variety of audiences and technical proficiency levels.
Chart and document a vision for Evolv?s Big Data Analytics product suite
Serve as Big Data and BI industry expert across the company
Review product features with and collect feedback from customers
Prioritize and manage the feature backlog for the Big Data Analytics product suite
Provide detailed product requirements and functional design specifications to engineering
Defend and validate prioritization decisions with business case
Evangelize product capabilities to sales and marketing teams, helping them contextualize and communicate about the product
Job Qualifications and Professional Skills:
At least 5 years of experience managing a software product or product line; SaaS products preferred.
Bachelor?s degree required; MBA preferred
Extensive experience with or demonstrated deep understanding of at least two of the following: Business Intelligence, Big Data, Analytics, Data Management, Data Mining, Optimization, Enterprise Software
Strong technical background in related technologies, e.g., Hadoop, Hbase, Crunch, etc.; ability to lead high-level discussions on technology strategy and approach
Strong people skills: The ability to work with many different types of people across roles and across companies, cultures
Strong strategic and analytical skills: Ability to update business and product strategy based on customer research, data and industry trends
Strong communication skills with the ability to evangelize the merits of Evolv?s products internally and externally.
