Bindery/Finishing Journeyman

To complement our rapidly growing business we are seeking bright and highly motivated Bindery/Finishing Journeymen. These positions will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining all finishing equipment while maintaining budgeted speeds and quality levels. These positions will be located in our print production and distribution facility in Newark, NJ.
Responsibilities:

• Must be able to set up and operate various machinery such as large and complicated cutters, folders, laminators, perfect binders, case binding equipment, etc.
• Performs manual duties (such as moving and handling of large paper stock and performing intricate handiwork and complicated printed materials)
• Must be able to assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and used in the Photo Products areas that will minimize waste; be able to trouble shoot and perform preventative maintenance as needed
• May be required to perform routine bindery and finishing duties as required to include stapling, inserting, punching, folding and collating
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have at least five (5) years experience in a printing environment
• 3-5 years of experience using a Laminator, UV Coater, Perfect Binder, Cutter and Folder preferred
• Thorough knowledge of all bindery and finishing processes, equipment and machinery; experience with these makes and models are preferred: Horizon BQ 470, Horizon HT-80, Horizon HT-70, Morgana Digifold Pro, D&K 2760, and GP² SC-2
• History of performing well under pressure; must be very detailed oriented.
• Good communication skills and comprehension skillsâ€" including written and verbal
• Capable of multi-tasking; goal and team oriented
• Have the ability to work flexible hours and be willing to work overtime on short or no notice
