Essential Duties:
Design and develop pipelines to automate analysis workflows across various data types and platforms for gene discovery and clinical applications
Extract, manipulate, transform and analyze various data sets from gene discovery and clinical validation efforts
Utilize understanding and experience in assessing data quality and data normalization for a variety of genomic platforms
Evaluate and integrate various bioinformatics tools and resources for annotation and interpretation of diverse types of data
Apply knowledge of classification methods to generate gene signatures for disease classification and prediction. Participate in development, implementation and testing of various novel methods
Collaborate with various groups on reports, presentations and research publications
Minimum Job and Qualification Requirements:
Education/Training:
PhD/MS in Bioinformatics/Computer Science/Statistics or a related discipline
Experience:
Minimum 1 year relevant experience required
Strong programming skills in R, Perl shell scripting are essential
Knowledge and proficiency in Java or C/C++ desired
Working knowledge with one or more of Oracle/Postgres/mySQL databases
Demonstrated experience in software engineering
Experience in analysis of gene expression, proteomic, genetic or other genomic data sets desired
Knowledge of (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of computer systems and technologies
Knowledge of databases
Basic understanding of analytical techniques associated with analysis of high throughput microarray and/or Next-Generation sequencing data
Knowledge of Perl, R, C, Python and general programming languages

Ability to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines (internal and external)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to think logically
Ability to multi-task, manage time and meet deadlines
