Biological Modeler Immunetrics

The purpose of a Biological Modeler is to provide Immunetrics team members with the biological expertise that represents the foundation for the development of Immunetrics models. The primary responsibilities of a Biological Modeler include performing detailed scientific literature searches, developing a broad understanding of molecular biology, physiology, and clinical trial-related concepts, and providing this background and expertise to Immunetrics mathematical modelers. This position does not involve any wet lab work, and requires substantial time spent reading scientific journal articles, answering questions, and preparing background information and data for internal and external presentations. The Biological Modeler will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Immunetrics projects, which involve both academic and pharmaceutical industry collaborations and supporting the planning and execution of clinical studies.
Applicants should have a strong background in molecular/cell biology or physiology. MS or PhD in biology is required. In depth knowledge of the immune system, inflammation, and/or the coagulation cascade is a plus. This position requires excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to explain biological concepts to non-biologists is essential. The Biological Modeler will work effectively both independently, as well as in a team setting, and must be open to some travel.
