BIOMASS SCIENTIST / ENGINEER Cobalt Biofuels

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and experience with conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to higher value fuels and/or chemicals via hydrolysis of cellulose and hemicellulose to sugars. The candidate will be key contributor to a dynamic and flexible team responsible for development, optimization, and scale-up of Cobalt's biomass processing technology.
Design, conduct, analyze, and report on pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis experiments.
Assist in the achievement of technical metrics for the commercialization of biomass processing for the extraction and recovery of fermentable sugars
Experience with pretreatment and/or enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass is required
Pilot scale or larger biomass processing experience is preferred
Experience with development of techno-economic models is preferred
Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Passion for science and enthusiasm for renewable chemicals
Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Excellent organization and communication skills
Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related discipline
BS + 3 or more years relevant experience or MS/PhD with relevant experience
