Location: Warrenville, Illinois.
Position Purpose:
The bioprocess engineer is responsible for optimization, scale up and manufacturing support in the area of fermentation technology. The engineer will work closely with the Strain Development, New Product Development, Engineering and Operations groups to improve Coskata?s proprietary process technologies and support manufacturing operations.
Position Accountabilities:
Lead and participate in small scale fermentation projects, including experimental set-up, operation, sampling and data analysis and report writing.
Collaborate with process modeling team to evaluate impact of experimental findings on manufacturing operations.
Translate and transfer research findings to pilot and commercial manufacturing operations.
Position Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and will be a high energy, enthusiastic self-starter with a solid background in chemical and bioprocess engineering.
A Bachelor?s degree in chemical engineering with significant coursework in biology and 3-5 years of industrial experience with fermentation process development are required.
The ideal candidate will also have experience in anaerobic fermentations, industrial applications of mass and energy balances and process monitoring and control instrumentation.
