Position Summary:
The Bioprocessing Operations Manager supports the alliance between Biostorage
Technologies and RUCDR Infinite Biologics. This individual would be located in the New
Brunswick, NJ area and be responsible for ensuring the ongoing projects between the
two entities get completed in a timely and cost effective manner. Additionally, the
individual will be required to provide continuous communication and project updates to
the stakeholders and will sometimes be in client facing position. Projects include
biological sample management, tissue and cell culture, and genotyping services. This
individual will also be responsible for leading process improvement initiatives and play a
integral role in implementing new Quality Assurance measures. The role is a non-union
role but is required to navigate a union environment effectively. The position has no
direct reports but there is a great need to have the ability to influence without direct
authority. The role reports through the Comprehensive Solution department
within Biostorage Technologies.
Major Responsibilities, Activities and Task Statements:
Essential Functions
1. Keep track of current projects and report status and performance indicators as
needed to stakeholders
2. Make sure projects stay within original scope and fall within budget
3. Provide metrics in a clear and understandable manner
4. Escalate issues with projects in a timely manner and provide alternative solutions
and methods of approaching solutions
5. Support and provide guidance on quality assurance GXP initiatives in cooperation
with all necessary QA departments
6. Lead implementation of new sample management initiatives in cooperation with
all necessary individuals
Position Specifications
Required
? MS with 5+ years or BS with 10+ years of scientific laboratory experience.
? Understanding of GXP regulations as they relate to sample management and
sample processing.
? A working knowledge of scientific methodologies in genetic analysis, tissue
culture, biological sample processing and sample management.
? Understanding of information systems related to sample processing and
management.
? Experience with being in a team oriented environment and being successful
with leading and playing a supporting role.
? Detailed oriented, but able to grasp the larger, strategic objective
? Very organized, but willing to make immediate changes as the situation
requires
? Able to communicate 1:1 and in a team setting, both in person and over long
distances
? Be able to give and receive orders
? Sufficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
