Description

The R&D function at Singulex is responsible for clinical outcome, clinical utility, and health economic studies around new biomarkers and diagnostic content.
The candidate will be responsible for the creation, management, and analyses of databases to support such clinical activities.
This is a very high visibility individual performed position within the company.
The candidate will work directly with the Vice President of R&D and be solely responsible for all biostatistical design and analyses in clinical outcome studies.
The candidate will additionally provide guidance around statistical data analyses to cross functional teams within Singulex.

Qualifications

PhD in statistics (biostatistics) required, with at least three plus years of relevant hands-on experience. 15+ years hands on relevant experience may be substituted for the PhD degree. In this case a masters or Bachelors of Science degree is required. Relevant experience includes:

Direct experience as a project lead biostatistician within a biotechnology, Pharma or Diagnostics organization or for an organization that provides these services to the Bio/Pharma sector.
Broad and deep knowledge of biostatistician analyses tools, including SAS Knowledge and experience in performing biomarker analyses in regards to clinical outcomes.
Experience and documented leadership in providing statistical study design to teams consisting mainly of biologists.
Documented experience in building and maintain complex databases that contain clinical and biological variables.
General knowledge of biological processes. Ideally, the candidate will possess a degree in a biological discipline and have experience working in a biological sciences laboratory.
Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word programs is essential.
Strong oral and written communications in the English language are required.
Must be an analytical thinker who can independently suggest solutions to complex problems, including study design and analyses. The technical requirements for this position are diverse. The candidate will need to both develop complex databases from scratch and then analyze these databases once populated with clinical content. Hence it is important for this candidate to be highly organized and thoughtful in the approaches used. This position requires significant independent work as a sole biostatistician within Singulex; however, the candidate must know when to seek assistance from senior management at Singulex. The candidate will be working across functional areas in a matrix team manner at all levels of the organization.
