Blitz.io: Technical Lead Software Engineer Mu Dynamics

Mu Dynamics is seeking an outstanding Technical Lead Rails/Sinatra Software Engineer who will both manage and contribute to a new software development team. This team will drive the development of the award-winning self-service cloud-based load and performance testing solution, Blitz. Blitz is focused on mobile/cloud app-developers and integrated with leading PaaS platforms including AppHarbor, Engine Yard, Heroku, etc.

We are looking for a self-starter, an individual who can design and implement new features quickly as well as manage the efforts of the other software engineers on the team. The Technical Lead Engineer will work closely with Blitz customers and partners and drive the team to make changes based on real time customer feedback and usage.

This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Requirements:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Significant professional software development experience in Ruby on Rails 3.0, Sinatra and similar server-side frameworks
Must be a polyglot programmer with experience in two or more languages like Java, Python, Ruby and node.js
Experience with developing and deploying cloud applications that scale horizontally
Experience building Web Applications using JavaScript, CSS, HTML4 / HTML5, AJAX, JQuery, JSON, Canvas and SVG
Experience working in an Agile War Room-style software development environment.
Strong passion for developing cutting-edge user interfaces and data visualization.

Additional Skills:

Experience working with NoSQL databases, especially CouchDB, desired.
Previous experience with Test Driven Development where unit tests are integrated from the earliest stages of the SDLC; familiarity with Scrum and Agile Software Development methodologies strongly preferred.
Understanding of Amazon Web Services, especially EC2, S3 and EBS, desired.
Ability to provide technical guidance to team members; previous experience as a hiring manager considered a strong plus.
Must enjoy learning and utilizing new technologies, frameworks, and tools.

Responsibilities:



Work with the Blitz creative team to deliver user interface design and handle all phases of the development process starting from UI prototyping and final layout to implementation, unit testing, integration testing and bug fixing.
Mentor and coordinate the efforts of the other team members.
Evaluate user interface technologies that can improve the user experience, speed up development efforts or improve overall code quality.
