Book Marketing Strategist Goodreads
Goodreads is seeking a marketing strategist to help our publishing partners best use the site to promote their books. This position will serve as an evangelist for all of our promotional and advertising products. Duties will include meeting regularly with publishers to educate and inform them about new and existing opportunities within Goodreads, as well as helping our advertising and promotions teams build compelling products for our clients.
This role is critical to helping us maintain our position as the top book discovery site in the world, as well as a highly desirable place to promote and advertise books.
Responsibilities and Role:
Evangelize Goodreads promotional products and advertising packages to publishers and authors.
Train publishers on how best to use Goodreads through a combination of owned, earned, and paid media.
Help define promotional product road map with an eye toward growing user engagement, author and publisher activity on the site, and maintaining our position as the top discovery site for books.
Work closely with ad sales team to expand and refine our offerings to authors and publishers and to anticipate publisher needs.
Build and maintain productive relationships with publishers large and small.
Desired Skills & Experience:
3-5 years marketing experience in the publishing industry. Familiarity with how publishers have marketed books in the past as well as current best-practices a plus.
Expert knowledge of the publishing industry, particularly online book promotion. An interest in the evolving world of publishing, self-publishing, and book marketing is essential.
Team-oriented attitude
Strong presentation skills
Bachelor's Degree (Advanced degree a plus)
Comfort with business analytics and various associated tools, including Google Analytics.
Knowledge of and passion for Goodreads a strong plus
Passion for discovering, reading, and sharing books!
