The Branch Manager is responsible for leading sales activity to achieve sales objectives for Branch, align vision to stay current within market demands and trends; promote K2M products in accordance with its policies in the area assigned; maintain awareness of local competitive conditions and for provide feedback to K2M accordingly. This position will develop product demands by creating product awareness and providing education/training to clinicians and hospital staff.
Generate new sales: Develop leads, recruit new surgeons, qualify prospects, and make sales calls.
Aggressively seek new customers and formulate and follow plans for such action as directed by the Regional Sales Director.
Meet or exceed sales quota and increase total company market share in assigned territory.
Call on customers and prospects; provide technical, marketing, and administrative product information and demonstrations; quote appropriate customer prices. Particular focus on orthopedic and neuro spine surgeons, spending approximately 80% of work time meeting with them in a hospital setting.
Implement approved marketing strategies.
Cooperate with all personnel on the execution of Company programs.
Actively involved in Branch and corporate home office personnel on spine products use and features.
Respond to customer complaints in accordance with K2M policy and advice of RSD and appropriate K2M personnel promptly of any situation beyond scope of authority.
Remain informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers; monitor and gather information on competitive activity.
Recommend the additions of new products and the modification or deletions of present products to the line as appropriate.
Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
Respond in a timely manner to all reporting requirements and requests
Provide regular monthly and timely feedback on a variety of topics including sales performance/penetration, market feedback, competitive activities, new target accounts, ideas regarding sales growth and new product development opportunities.
Adhere to company policies and conduct all business in an ethical manner.
Honor obligations to former employers.
Develop relationships with surgeons, and other appropriate personnel within the spine product environment.
Managing and maintaining a sample inventory of products.
Travel to all accounts within assigned territory, as directed by K2M RSD, will be necessary.
Acquire clinical competency skills with all K2M products to assure role of sales expert in an elite sales force. Surgical case coverage is required, with the goal of providing the highest degree of value to surgeon and patient.
Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Achieve monthly/ quarterly/ annual Sales Quota for the Branch
Responsible for all business related activities associated w/ sales within geographical territory Branch
Actively recruit for sales talent in specified territory
Support sales activity to achieve Sales Quota for Branch.
Attend K2M surgery on a weekly basis and maintain a professional relationship with surgeon accounts
Mastery of all Surgeon and Hospital Account activity within Branch
Develop and execute on a target list of key accounts within the Branch
B.S. in Business/Marketing or Biological/Physiological Sciences, or equivalent working experience in the medical device field required.
4 to 8 years spine sales experience preferred and a minimum of 2 years in sales management.
Account management skills, incl. problem-solving, customer relations, budgeting.
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to sell in an environment where partnering with a surgeon is critical and ability to sell a new device or procedure.
Proven leadership abilities and experience in selling value-added programs.
Fully knowledgeable about the anatomy and capable of effectively explaining after the completion of sales training.
After two weeks in the territory, able to describe the anatomy of the spine and anatomical landmarks necessary to instruct a surgeon on the use of K2M products.
